Summer’s heating up, the coals are red, fireflies are out…

It’s been a busy year thus far. Widdershins came out a few months ago, setting in motion a world tour, now well underway. Kristin Hersh and I toured part of the US in March. Next came Spain and the UK with opener Jarrod Dickenson. This was followed by Australia, where I toured the country with Melbourne’s Matt Joe Gow opening the shows. A big shout-out to all of my traveling compadres for bringing their artistry and good humor to the journey, no matter how early the morning or long the day. And thanks to all of you who made it out to the shows! It’s a privilege to come to your town, play some songs, drink your coffee and say hello.

I’m currently recharging my batteries back in Nashville and enjoying the summer days with my family. The time between tours goes by quickly. Dates are already on sale for the next tour, which starts on August 2 in Genoa, Italy at Teatro Bloser. I’m primarily sticking to Italy on this trip but I’ll also be playing in Brela, Croatia at the Sakan Festival on August 11.

***JUST ADDED! Ljubljana, Slovenia August 10 ***

I’m looking forward to immersing myself in the beauty of these remarkable places and cultures. Concert Listings.

An artist who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for many years, and who I’ve even written songs with on occasion, is Josh Rouse. Currently based in Nashville, Josh has also lived in Spain. Both of us have new albums on Yep Roc Records and both of us have been talking about a joint tour for some time. It’s happening this October! We kick it off in Nashville on October 5 at City Winery. Details on the tour, cities and are available at my website by clicking CONCERTS. This is going to be a very cool run of shows!

Moving into November, I’ll be returning to Europe, with shows in London, Amsterdam, Zaventum, Aarhus, Malmo, Oslo, Bergen, Stockholm and Copenhagen. You can find details and links to all of these shows at my website.

Finally, I’m posting several live solo acoustic versions of songs from Widdershins on my Youtube channel, GrantLeeTV. No frills, just voice and guitar but this how the songs are born and ultimately how they’re presented out on the road. The Wilderness, Unruly Mobs, Another, Another Then Boom, Great Acceleration, Something’s Gotta’ Give…live videos for these and more. I see these videos as a companion to the album, which is often more layered when supported by a rhythm section. I produced these clips earlier this year and I’m pleased to let them out in the world. The songs are very much a document of my personal feelings in reflection of our volatile social climate. In addition, the official music videos for King of Catastrophes and Miss Betsy are up on Youtube, along with many others from over the years.

I hope to see you on the road. There’s still a lot of places to get to on this itinerary. So many places that aren’t on this list, like Germany, Ireland, Finland…Louisville. I’ll keep on strumming and I aim to see you soon!

My best, Grant-Lee
